Prime Minister Narendra Modi will further dedicate and lay the foundation stone for 44 urban development projects worth ₹5,295 crore across Gujarat. File

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to unveil infrastructure, industrial, and cultural projects spanning several districts during his visit to Gujarat on Tuesday (March 31, 2026)

The visit will begin in Koba village of Gandhinagar district, where the Mr. Modi will inaugurate the ‘Samrat Samprati Museum’ at the Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra and address a gathering. Named after Samrat Samprati Maharaj, the museum is dedicated to Jain heritage and the principle of non-violence. It features rare artefacts, ancient manuscripts, sculptures and seven themed galleries, along with audio-visual installations.

From there, Mr. Modi will travel to Sanand near Ahmedabad to inaugurate an Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility set up by Kaynes Semicon at an estimated cost of ₹3,300 crore. The facility will undertake chip packaging and testing, with a projected production capacity of around 60 lakh chips per day.

Officials said the project is expected to bolster India’s semiconductor mission and strengthen Gujarat’s position as a manufacturing hub.

In the final leg of the visit, the Prime Minister will reach Lakhni taluka in the newly formed Vav-Tharad district, where he will address a public meeting and virtually inaugurate development and railway projects worth over ₹6,000 crore.

Key railway projects include the 55-km Himmatnagar-Khedbrahma line, built at a cost of ₹482 crore to improve connectivity in Sabarkantha district and enhance links with Ahmedabad and Udaipur.

Additional works include the doubling of the Kanalus-Jamnagar section and a multitracking project between Gandhidham and Adipur, together costing ₹257 crore. A new train service between Khedbrahma and Ahmedabad via Himmatnagar will also be flagged off.

The Prime Minister will further dedicate and lay the foundation stone for 44 urban development projects worth ₹5,295 crore across the State. Of these, 18 projects valued at ₹1,868 crore will be inaugurated.

Ahmedabad accounts for the largest share with 32 projects worth ₹4,640 crore, followed by works under the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation.

These initiatives include infrastructure upgrades, drainage systems and housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, aimed at benefiting thousands of families. I

n addition, the Heritage Town and Road Beautification Project in Vadnagar will be inaugurated to promote tourism, while a railway overbridge in Patan will be opened to ease congestion and improve connectivity for nearly two lakh residents.
