On the first day of filing the nominations, all the seven official candidates of Naam Tamilar Party (NTK) filed their papers. Among them were T.E. Karthikeyan (Rajapalayam), A. Karikalapandian (Srivilliputtur), A. Esther Mary Diana (Sivakasi), D. Anandaraja (Sattur), Lakshmanan (Virudhunagar), G. Manimaran (Aruppukottai) and Karthikraja (Tiruchuli).
