As March is observed as National Colon Cancer Awareness Month and March 31 as Colon Cancer Awareness Day, MedIndia Hospitals & Charitable Trust, Nungambakkam, commemorated the occasion with the launch of C5 spark – Chennai Colon Cancer Community Chat on Monday at its hospital premises.

“Still, many are not aware of colon cancer, and we are increasingly seeing patients with late stage diagnosis, which is why awareness programmes are critically needed in Chennai,” said T.S. Chandrasekar, founder of MedIndia Hospitals. “Our vision at C5 spark is to encourage early diagnosis, educate people on symptoms, screening protocols, and provide peer support for patients, their families, and the caregivers,” he said, adding that rural outreach initiatives, Q&A sessions, and gatherings with patients and experts to share stories are also planned.
