Three youths were killed in separate road accidents in Fort Kochi and Edakochi on Monday (March 30, 2026). In the first incident, Calvin Jacob, 24, and Sooraj, 25, both natives of Rameswaram in Thoppumpady, died after the bike they were riding crashed into an electric post at Nazareth in Fort Kochi. The accident occurred around 11 p.m. Though the duo were rushed to a nearby hospital, they succumbed to injuries. In another incident, Ananthakrishnan, 20, a native of Palluruthy, died after two bikes collided near Kannangattu Bridge in Edakochi. Preliminary investigation suggests overspeeding as the cause of both accidents, police sources said.
