A fire broke out at a private financial establishment in Sasthamangalam, Thiruvananthapuram, during the early hours of Monday.

The incident occurred around 5.45 a.m. on the second floor of a three-storied building. Security personnel first noticed smoke rising from the premises and immediately alerted the police.

The fire force took nearly two hours to douse the fire and avert a major disaster in the busy commercial area. No casualties have been reported in the incident.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, preliminary assessments suggest that a short circuit in the inverter system may have triggered the incident.
