Minister for Roads and Buildings, B.C. Janardhan Reddy, who is also the Annamayya district in-charge, visited the family of a minor girl who was recently murdered and assured them support from the government, in Madanapalle on Monday. He met the victim’s parents, conveyed his condolences, and spent some time with them. As immediate relief, he handed over a cheque for ₹10 lakh to the family. Calling the incident disturbing, the Minister said that action would be taken to ensure justice in the case. He said the government would continue to support the family in the coming days. It may be recalled that the accused in the case, the victim’s neighbour, had committed suicide, after reportedly escaping from police custody the day following the crime.
