Engineering student dies after ‘falling’ into Gambheeram Reservoir

An engineering student died reportedly after falling into the Gambheeram reservoir in Anandapuram mandal on Sunday (March 29). The victim, identified as Malineddi Nitin (22), was a third-year computer science engineering student at a private engineering college in Tagarapuvalasa and a native of Kagita village in Nakkapalli mandal. He resided at the Social Welfare Boys’ Hostel in Madhurawada.

The incident is believed to have occurred on Sunday afternoon, but it came to light on Monday. According to sources, Nitin, along with his classmates, reportedly left the hostel around 3 p.m. in an autorickshaw to visit the reservoir without obtaining permission from the hostel warden.
