Senthilbalaji, the Coimbatore South constituency DMK candidate. The DMK started preparing to win the Coimbatore constituencies immediately after the Parliamentary elections. The AIADMK won the Coimbatore seats in 2021 with marginal number of votes. It has not grown after that, he told reporters after inaugurating the party’s election office on Monday. The Coimbatore South Assembly constituency will be developed into a model and a developed constituency with all basic amenities. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had taken efforts to develop the Semmozhi Poonga, complete the GD Naidu flyover, set up a jewellery park, build the Periyar library, and expand the Coimbatore airport. Works worth over ₹8,000 crore were taken up in the city by Coimbatore Corporation. The DMK’s election manifesto covers all segments of society, including students, entrepreneurs, and women, he said. For instance, the pumpset manufacturers had submitted their demands to the Chief Minister and the manifesto promises new pumpsets for all agriculture electricity connections in the State. This will bring orders to the pumpset units, he added. “I have never been scared of elections. I do not differentiate between Karur and Coimbatore,” Mr. Senthilbalaji said.
