A review meeting on the preparation of the District Human Development Report (DHDR) 2025 was organised recently at the Taluk Panchayat meeting hall in Bidar, with a focus on gram panchayat-level indicators and indices.

Discussions centred on streamlining data collection and finalising key indicators essential for assessing human development at the grassroots level.

The meeting was chaired by Research Assistant Kapil Humnabade providing technical support for the Gram Panchayat Human Development Index (GP-HDI).

The identified indicators for GP-HDI-2025 include parameters across education, infrastructure and health sectors.

In education, emphasis will be placed on the number of children enrolled in primary schools, Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) at primary and secondary levels and the SSLC pass percentage.

Infrastructure indicators include the number of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) water tap connections provided to rural households and the number of kaccha houses.

Health indicators will focus on malnutrition levels.

Officials stated that all relevant data must be submitted by Tuesday to ensure the timely preparation of the report, which is expected to play a key role in planning and promoting economic development at the gram panchayat level.

A taluk-level steering committee has been constituted to oversee the process of data collection and analysis. The committee is chaired by Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Manik Rao Patil and officials from various departments.
