The image is used for representative purposes only. | Photo Credit: BY ARRANGEMENT A separate system to put a check on food adulteration would be set up in Telangana, on the lines of other units formed by the government to address specific issues, announced Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday (March 30, 2026). Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) was formed to protect lakes and public places from encroachment, Telangana Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) acts against narcotics menace in the State. The Chief Minister, on the sidelines of a programme in Hyderabad, said that existing laws in the country would be studied to bring in a robust system. Currently, Telangana Food Safety Department conducts checks against the food adulteration and hygiene issues. Hyderabad Police too formed Hyderabad-Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST) has been cracking down against unhygienic and illegal food manufacturing units in the city.
