A youngster picking up some tips at a KSCA Cricket Academy. | Photo Credit: File photo The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) will conduct open selection trials for the Mysore zone KSCA Cricket Academy for the 2026–27 season to identify and nurture talented young cricketers from the region. The initiative aims to provide aspiring players an opportunity to showcase their skills and gain professional training under the academy system. The Mysuru zone includes players from Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts. Selection trials for boys will be held in the Under-19 (born on or after September 1, 2007), Under-16 (born on or after September 1, 2010), and Under-14 categories. Trials will be conducted at multiple venues across the zone to ensure wider participation. In Mandya, trials for all boys’ age groups will take place at the PET KSCA Turf Ground on April 3. In Chamarajanagar, the trials will be held on April 4 at Lyons Cricket Academy. In Mysuru, the trials are scheduled for April 5, where the Under-19 selection will be conducted at the JSS KSCA Turf Ground, while the Under-16 trials will take place at the SDNRW Stadium. Players in the Under-14 category, who could not attend the earlier selection trials held on March 22, can participate in the trials scheduled in Mandya or Chamarajanagar. KSCA will also conduct selection trials for girls. The Under-15 category (born on or after September 1, 2011) trials will be held on April 3 at the JSS KSCA Turf Ground at 9 a.m. The Under-19 girls’ trials (born on or after September 1, 2007) are scheduled for April 4 at the SDNRW Stadium in Mysuru at 9 a.m. The selection process is expected to attract a large number of young cricketers from across the region, offering them an opportunity to enter the KSCA academy system and advance their cricketing careers, according to Srinivas Prasad P., Convenor, KSCA, Mysuru zone.
