Former Tenkasi MP Vasanthi Murugesan is set to contest the April 23 election from Sankarankoil Assembly constituency, as the All India Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AIPTMMK). V.K. Sasikala, who had recently associated herself with the party, released its list of candidates for 21 constituencies for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on Sunday. The party has also allotted three seats for two of its allies — Pasumpon Makkal Desam Katchi and Vellalar Munnetra Kazhagam. The AIPTMMK also named candidates for Colachel, Dindigul, Madurai Central, Manamadurai, Mannargudi, Mayiladuthurai, Melur, Muthukulathur, Nanguneri, Paramakudi, Rajapalayam, Sivaganga, Sivakasi, Sriperumbudur, Srirangam, Tenkasi, Thirumangalam, Thittakudi, Tiruchi East and Tirupparankundaram. The AIPTMMK has allotted Alangulam and Sattur constituencies to Pasumpon Makkal Desam Katchi and Nannilam to Vellalar Munnetra Kazhagam.
