The Kongu Vellala Goundergal Peravai has announced support for the AIADMK-led alliance ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, following resolutions passed at its State general council meeting in Coimbatore on Sunday (March 29, 2026).

The meeting, chaired by State president S.P. Rajendran, criticised the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government led by Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on multiple fronts. It alleged in a resolution that there is a sharp rise in State debt and questioned its financial management. It also claimed that funds generated in the Kongu region were not adequately spent there.

The Peravai flagged rising prices of essential commodities, increased taxes and charges, and concerns over law and order, including crimes against women and drug circulation, and called for stricter enforcement.

It also raised issues related to employment, alleging irregularities in government recruitment, and sought transparent hiring. The outfit highlighted the impact of alcohol on families and emphasised for rehabilitation measures.

Among key demands were the implementation of an integrated bus terminus at Vellalore, revival of waterbody restoration works, and a caste-based census.

The Peravai said it would mobilise support for the AIADMK alliance across the State.
