Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy claimed that contractors were executing works only in the constituencies belonging to the Ministers and Chief Minister, as they were getting bills only for the works done there, and questioned this discrimination against other MLAs.

Speaking on the grants in the Assembly, he said Huzurnagar constituency, represented by Minister for Irrigation N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, was getting a large number of lift irrigation schemes. He sought to know how the government would exist by neglecting MLAs. He suggested the government not to discriminate against the MLAs. He stated that there was a talk outside that every programme/scheme was going to combined Khammam district as it is represented by three Ministers.

A few members of the MIM, Congress and BJP who participated in the discussion on voting of demands for grants highlighted the neglect of government schools in the State despite the claims of improving the infrastructure. Ahmed Bin Abdulla Balala and Mir Zulfeqar Ali (MIM), K. Venkata Ramana Reddy, P. Rakesh Reddy and A. Maheshwar Reddy (BJP), Beerla Ilaiah, T. Rammohan Reddy, Matta Ragamayee, K. Shankaraiah and B. Manohar Reddy (Congress) and K. Sambasiva Rao (CPI) also spoke on the demands.

Mr. Rajgopal Reddy said there were over 300 government schools in his constituency but the total number of students in them was only about 9,000. Complimenting the government for proposing integrated schools, he suggested one every mandal be sanctioned against one in each constituency.

Mr. Venkata Ramana Reddy said there was no fee regulation for private schools and mid day meal with fine rice and breakfast provision would not improve the strength in government schools as it was mostly linked to basic infrastructure such as proper buildings, furniture, toilets and others.

Giving clarifications Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that SLBC would be completed by June 2028, Dindi in two years. On the depletion of water levels in Krishna Basin reservoirs, he said the energy department was asked to stop hydel generation at Srisailam and urged Andhra Pradesh to stop drawing water from that reservoir.
