Palm Sunday observed in Thoothukudi

On the occasion of Palm Sunday, processions and prayers were held in churches across Thoothukudi district.

This year’s Lenten season began on February 18 with Ash Wednesday. The final week of the Lent is observed as holy week, with its first day marked as Palm Sunday.

Special palm Sunday processions and prayers were held in all churches across the district. At the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Thoothukudi, the procession was led by Bishop Stephen Antony of Thoothukudi diocese, with a large number of devotees participating. The procession passed through the main streets around the church followed by a special mass led by the Bishop.
