50% interest waiver on property tax dues till March 31: GVMC Commissioner

Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner Ketan Garg said that the State government has announced a 50% waiver on interest levied on pending property tax dues. He urged property taxpayers and house owners to make use of the opportunity by clearing their dues, including property tax and vacant land tax, through a one-time payment on or before March 31, 2026.

He clarified that even if taxpayers are unable to pay the entire amount in one go, they can still get the 50% interest waiver by paying at least the outstanding dues before the deadline.
