Mohan, a former legislator, was on Sunday (March 29, 2026) named the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s (TVK) candidate for Cheyyar for the April 23 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the AIADMK leadership expelled him from the primary membership of the party. A communication from AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami said Mr. Mohan’s actions violated party discipline and brought disrepute to the organisation.
