Mr. Sai, who listened to the broadcast at his official residence, noted that the indigenous ‘Aawa Pani Jhonki’ model has become a national benchmark for grassroots innovation. Talking to reporters after the programme, the Chief Minister said people across the country eagerly wait for every episode of “Mann Ki Baat”, which showcases innovations and positive initiatives from different parts of India. He said that Mr. Modi mentioned Korea district, where farmers are conserving water through an innovative model called ‘Aawa Pani Jhonki’, by building recharge ponds and soak pits in their fields to collect rainwater. Mr. Sai pointed out that more than 1,200 farmers have developed over 2,000 such structures, significantly improving groundwater levels in the area. Water conservation has become a mass movement under PM Modi’s leadership, and similar efforts are being promoted in Chhattisgarh with active public participation, he said. Speaking about the conflict in West Asia, Mr. Sai said the country is fully prepared to deal with any challenges. He said that the Prime Minister held discussions with chief ministers on Friday, and he himself reviewed preparedness with officials and oil companies on Saturday (March 28). “There is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG in the state. Supply is smooth and normal. People should not believe rumours or panic,” he said, assuring that adequate availability of essential commodities is being maintained. Mr. Sai also highlighted key messages from the Mann Ki Baat programme about self-reliance in fisheries, promoting fitness, reducing sugar intake, and encouraging sports. The State government has been working to strengthen fisheries, promote sports among youth, and encourage a healthy lifestyle to boost the rural economy, he said.
