A mini bus went off the road and fell into a farmland near Manihatty village in the Nilgiris on Wednesday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT More than 30 people on board a private mini bus suffered injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in fell off the road and down a 50-foot slope near Manihatty village in the Nilgiris on Wednesday. The police said that the mini bus from Udhagamandalam was heading to Thangadu with 32 passengers, including 12 women, 17 men and three children on board. The bus fell off the road and landed upside down in a private farm land near Manihatty. Following the accident, ambulances rushed victims to nearby hospitals for first aid and treatment. The police said that at least five persons suffered moderate injuries and are undergoing treatment. A case has been registered and investigations are ongoing.
