Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay has alleged that the Congress government in Telangana has failed to effectively implement the employment guarantee scheme in the State.

He said that despite the presence of 92,000 job cards in Rajanna Sircilla district, workers are receiving less than 50 days of employment on average.

He was addressing a gathering at Ankireddypalle village in Thangallapalli mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district where he launched internal CC road works at an estimated cost of ₹25 lakh under the National Employment Guarantee Scheme on Saturday.

He also laid the foundation stone for internal road works in Mustabad.

In the 2026-27 Union Budget, the Centre has allocated ₹95,692 crore for the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Scheme, which has replaced the earlier employment guarantee programme, he said.

Telangana is expected to receive over ₹3,000 crore under this scheme, benefiting nearly 32 lakh job card holders. The objective is to ensure 125 days of employment annually for every individual, he added.

Asserting that the Centre is regularly releasing 60% of the required funds, he said the State government must promptly release its 40% share to ensure effective implementation of the scheme.

Referring to Kalvakuntla Kavitha’s decision to launch a new political party, he said, “We welcome the decision. In a democracy, anyone is free to form a party, but ultimately, only those who genuinely address people’s issues will endure and earn public trust.”
