Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) announced government approval for 163 new appointments to address staffing gaps in the Stree Nidhi Credit Cooperative Federation Limited. Addressing the 13th general body meeting of Stree Nidhi, held at the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University auditorium in Rajendranagar, on Saturday, she also said performance-linked incentives will be introduced for SERP and MEPMA staff this year. The Minister praised women’s federations for transforming Stree Nidhi into a strong financial institution with a loan portfolio of ₹5,500 crore, noting that States such as Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Karnataka, and Bihar are adopting Telangana’s model. Since 2011, the Stree Nidhi has issued ₹23,000 crore in loans to 32 lakh women, with an outstanding balance of ₹5,107 crore. It declared a 14% dividend for 2024-25, backed by ₹154 crore profit. Stree Nidhi has expanded digital access through the Mana Streenidhi App and digital payment systems, while also enabling post office cash transactions in remote areas.
