The existing chariot at Perur Patteeswarar Temple in Coimbatore district has been cleared for use for the Panguni Uthiram festival following structural strengthening works and an inspection by the chief stapathi of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department on Saturday. Officials said the inspection was carried out to assess the structural condition of the chariot in view of earlier concerns. Based on the assessment, it has been confirmed that the chariot can be used for the festival.
