Lost valuables worth ₹4 lakh were recovered within 30 minutes and returned to a pilgrim from Tamil Nadu by the Saifabad police on Friday night (March 27). The complainant, Manimegala, had approached the police around 9.30 p.m. after realising that she left her handbag in an auto-rickshaw linked to a ride hailing platform near Lakdikapul Metro Station. The bag contained 25 grams of gold bangles, 2 grams of gold ear studs, ₹30,000 in cash and important documents. Acting swiftly, the police used technical surveillance and service data to identify the vehicle and track its real-time location. The auto-rickshaw was traced to the Chaderghat area, where the driver was located and the handbag recovered intact. The recovered property was brought to the police station and, after verification, handed over to the complainant. Police said the entire operation was completed within 30 minutes.
