The Dog Squad of the city police conducted checks on Friday night in and around the railway station near Gnanapuram. The trained canines helped police personnel nab two persons allegedly in possession of about three kg of ganja. The accused were later handed over to Kancharapalem police station for further legal action. Commending the efforts of the Dog Squad, Commissioner of Police Shankabratha Bagchi said that regular inspections are being carried out at key locations such as RTC Complex, railway stations, Beach Road and other sensitive areas. He added that steps are being taken in coordination with the District Collector and the GVMC Commissioner to deploy additional trained dogs to strengthen surveillance.
