The narrow Road Under Bridge (RUB) at Tunglam in Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) limits poses a serious threat to motorists and pedestrians. | Photo Credit: V. RAJU Motorists and pedestrians using the narrow Road Under Bridge (RUB) at Tunglam, connecting Duvvada railway station and nearby industrial areas with KIMS Hospital, Sheelanagar and surrounding localities, are facing severe hardship as the bridge is barely wide enough to accommodate a car and a motorcycle side by side. A motorist travelling from the Sheelanagar side towards the Autonagar industrial area cannot see vehicles coming from the opposite direction until entering the bridge, as the road takes a sharp turn immediately after crossing it. Vehicles from either side are often forced to reverse to avoid collisions. On Friday evening, a woman was seen walking close to the bridge wall to avoid being hit by vehicles moving in opposite directions.
