A total of 6,48,285 applications have been received for inclusion (Form 6) of names in the electoral roll in Tamil Nadu since the publication of the final electoral roll of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) on February 23.

“All applications received till March 26, 2026, will be processed and the electoral roll will be prepared on the last date for filing of nominations (April 6, 2026) in which all eligible electors will be included,” Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik said in an official release.

The electoral roll to be used for the Assembly election will be an integrated roll consisting of all the additions made during continuous updation from the last final roll publication date (February 23) till the last date of filing nominations (applications received till March 26, 2026, and prepared as on April 6, 2026), she said.

No separate addition, deletion and modification lists will be printed and instead all electors will be in a single electoral roll and will be given to the recognised political parties, the official said. Sholinganallur (17,476) , Madhavaram (10,790), and Kavundampalayam Assembly constituencies (10,133) recorded the receipt of 10,000 Form 6s.

In Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar Assembly constituency, a total of 15 persons from the third gender have submitted their applications for inclusion in the electoral roll. In all, 3,58,500 applications were received from women, 2,89,581 from men and 204 from the third gender.

Seizures across State

Meanwhile, the seizure by surveillance teams deployed in all the Assembly constituencies across the State, as of March 27, is as follows: cash to the tune of ₹44.89 crore, liquor valued at ₹0.93 crore, drugs/narcotics valued at ₹7.60 crore, and precious metals valued at ₹116.07 crore, the release said.
