Acute shortage of industrial gases puts a break on welding in Tiruchi

Several micro, small and medium scale industrial units in Tiruchi have scaled down their production due to acute shortage of industrial gases.

There are about 500 industrial units in and around Thuvakudi and Tiruverumbur in Tiruchi district. Many are fabrication units and they are vendors of Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd. They require industrial gases for a wide range of applications including welding, cutting and other fabrication works. The industrial houses get their supply from BIDAS Industrial Services Association, a society formed by a group of companies for distribution of various materials, including gases, among them.
