The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Court, Chennai, on Friday convicted and sentenced seven persons, including Babu Prasath Kumar, the then Senior Tax Assistant in the Income Tax Department, and six others to rigorous imprisonment for four years in an income tax refund fraud case. A total fine of ₹2.4 lakh was also imposed on them.
