A Sessions Court in Poonamallee sentenced four men to life imprisonment for kidnapping a marine engineer in Maduravoyal, murdering him, and burning his body in Tiruvannamalai in February 2012. The police said Gokul, alias Gokulakrishnan, 38, of Maduravoyal, had borrowed money from the victim, Dillibabu, alias Venkatesh, 29, from the same locality. When Gokulakrishnan failed to repay the amount, Dillibabu allegedly pressed for its return within a stipulated period. Subsequently, Gokulakrishnan hatched a plan to murder him with the help of his associates.
