Vijayendra took exception to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah not attending the video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said it reflected his “innate anti-Modi attitude.” Food and Civil Supplies Minister K.H. Muniyappa was nominated for the meeting. “By choosing to not attend the video conference, Mr. Siddaramaiah has done a great disservice to the people of Karnataka,” the BJP president added. Meanwhile, welcoming the reduction in excise duty on petroleum fuel, the BJP has warned of an intense protest if the State government uses this opportunity to increase the fuel prices. “The Union government has taken steps to reduce petrol and diesel prices. However, if the Congress government tries to increase prices and make profits, we will have to launch intense protests,” Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok told the media.
