One worker, R. Gurunathan, 50, was killed and two women workers, were injured in a fire accident reported at Natesh Fireworks unit at Viswanatham near Sivakasi on Friday (March 27, 2026) evening. Police said friction during handling of chemicals while filling them for making atom bombs led to an explosion at around 4 p.m.. Gurunathan was killed on the spot.
