Dharma, Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University, speaking in a press conference at Mangalore University on Friday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT For the first time in the history of Mangalore University, it has chosen a “daiva narthaka” of ‘Bhootaradhane’ ritualistic theatre for conferring its Honorary Doctorate. The university has selected Raveesh Padumale, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at SDM Institute of Technology, Ujire and also a “daiva narthaka” for the honorary D. Lit. award to be presented at the 44th convocation of the university at Mangalagangotri on Saturday. The university has also chosen social worker Harekala Hajabba, who is the recipient of Padmashree, for the Honorary Doctorate.
