The AP Crime Investigation Department (CID) conducted a workshop on Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, and the AP Gaming (Amendment) Act, 2025, for its officers at the CID headquarters, at Mangalagiri, on Thursday.

Director General of Police, CID, Ravi Shankar Ayyanar, who attended the programme stressed on the need for continuous training to the officers for effectively addressing the rapidly evolving challenges in betting-related and cyber-enabled crimes.

“The theme of the workshop is to strengthen the investigative capabilities, improving technological understanding, and enhancing enforcement strategies to effectively combat illegal betting and associated cybercrimes,” Mr. Ravi Shankar Ayyanar said.

Public policy expert and advocate, Rajaram Surianarayanan, explained the various critical aspects including the legal framework governing online gaming and betting, enforcement practices, provisions of the Information Technology Act, crypto-related dimensions, transaction pathways in crypto-betting, and the use of technical tools for modern enforcement.

CID Superintendent of Police (SP Administration and Training) R. Gangadhar, SPs of various wings P. Parameswar Reddy, S. Sreedhar, K. Chakravarthi, V. Sreedhar Rao, K. Eswar Rao, K. V. Srinivasa Rao, and officers from across the State participated.
