City Union Bank (CUB) opened its branch on Bairagipatteda main road in Tirupati on Thursday. This branch is, incidentally, its 936th unit across the country. Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Chairman C. Divakar Reddy, who is also an ex-officio member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), formally inaugurated the branch in the presence of the bank officials. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he anticipated the emergence of Tirupati as a buzzing city in the years to come and as such required more banking institutions such as the CUB. He hailed the ‘self service banking’ facility introduced in the branch and felt that it would save the customers a lot of time. CUB Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer N. Kamakodi, Regional Development Manager (Vijayawada – Region II) P. Sambamurthy, branch manager P. Rajesh Kumar, directors and senior officials took part.
