General Education Secretary K. Vasuki has said an order claiming a cut in duration of school summer vacations that was doing the rounds of social media was fake. The order claimed that the summer holiday of schools in the State had been slashed to one month. This was completely false; there was no change in the schedule of the summer holidays, Dr. Vasuki said in a press release. The fake order was purported to be from the General Education department. It was a deliberate bid to create confusion among students, parents, and teachers. “The government has issued no order rescheduling the holidays,” Dr. Vasuki said. She warned of strict action against those who misused her name and post to create the fake order. A complaint had been submitted to the State Police Chief to conduct an investigation and bring the culprits to book, the press statement said.
