The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Ministry of Finance, has intensified monitoring to prevent the movement of contraband and illicit goods in view of the upcoming Assembly election.

The Directorate said in a press release that during the Model Code of Conduct period, it would primarily focus on tracking narcotics, gold, foreign currency, as well as other items linked to unlawful activities that may affect the electoral process.

The public has been urged to share specific and actionable information, which will be kept confidential. Informants may also be eligible for rewards under the existing government policies, the release further said. Helpline and email contacts have been provided to facilitate reporting, the release said.
