Flying squads have intensified flash inspections in Kozhikode district to check suspected movement of unaccounted money and other valuables in the run-up to the Assembly elections. Vehicle checks are being conducted across all constituencies by teams operating under the supervision of the expenditure monitoring cell (EMC).

During inspections on March 23 and 24, the squads recovered a total of ₹21.47 lakh being transported without proper documentation. On March 23, the recoveries included ₹1,02,450 from Kuttiyady, ₹2,50,000 from Balussery, ₹11,56,050 from Kunnamangalam, and ₹1,89,00 from Elathur. The following day, ₹2,50,000 was recovered from Kozhikode South and ₹2,00,000 from Koyilandy.

The election authorities said multiple teams, including flying squads and static surveillance units, had been deployed across Assembly constituencies to monitor poll expenditure and check illegal movement of cash, liquor, gifts, or weapons. EMC nodal officer K.P. Manojan said liquid cash above ₹50,000 or goods valued over ₹10,000 being transported without valid documentation would be seized.
