With summer temperatures expected to remain above normal in Erode district, Collector S. Kandasamy has advised the public to take precautionary measures. In a release, the Collector said that the elderly, infants, pregnant women, young children and persons with chronic ailments are more vulnerable to heat stress. The public has been urged to avoid going outdoors between noon and 3 p.m. and to stay adequately hydrated.
