Of these, 16,978 posts were filled. Recruitment process for 67,763 direct vacant posts The Government said recruitment process for a total of 67,763 direct recruitment vacant posts has been completed since the formation of the present Government. These include filling of 16,978 posts through issue of notifications issued by the Congress Government “along with 50,785 posts filled by completing the recruitment process for notifications issued by the previous Government”, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said in reply to a query by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao in the Assembly on Wednesday (March 25, 2026). There was no debate on the question as the discussion on a question relating to double bedroom houses consumed major portion of the time and Assembly Speaker G. Prasad Kumar announced that other questions were deemed to have been answered. The reply, however, partly substantiates the BRS working president’s charge that the Congress Government gave appointment letters of 65,000 posts — whose filling process was in final stages when the BRS demitted office. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was however taking credit for filling the posts while forgetting the Congress’ promise of filling two lakh vacant posts in the first year of the Congress coming to power, KTR said. To a question on steps being taken by the Government to implement the promise of providing monthly assistance of ₹4,000 to the unemployed, the Government said: “The proposal (is) under examination”. Responding to the new job calendar, the Government said policy decisions relating to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes reservations were taken but recruitment could only be completed for notifications already issued in the job calendar, as these matters entered the judicial domain. “Due to these legal complexities, there was delay in issuing new notifications,” Mr. Vikramarka said.
