A routine vehicle check by the election flying squad in Ashok Nagar on Monday morning led to the seizure of 10 AK-47 rifles from a mini-van, briefly triggering security concerns. However, subsequent verification confirmed that the weapons were realistic film props. The driver, Mahendran, was questioned about the consignment. He informed the officials that the rifles were being transported from Vadapalani for a film shoot. After verifying the necessary permits and documentation for transporting the dummy weapons, the flying squad recorded the details and allowed the vehicle to proceed.
