Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner of Police Shankhabrata Bagchi said that in many instances, vehicle owners were unable to retrieve their seized vehicles from courts due to various difficulties. As a result, these vehicles remain unused for long periods, leading to deterioration and a significant loss in value. To address this issue and to ensure owners do not incur additional expenses, the city police have initiated this special ‘Vehicle Return Mela.’ Vehicles are returned to their owners free of cost, in the interest of the public.
