A view of the High Court of Karnataka. The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday ordered the issue of a notice to the State government on a PIL petition, which had complained about disturbances caused to people residing in the localities around the National Public School situated in Rajajinagar 5th block due to use of loudspeakers with high volume in the school and parking of school buses in residential areas. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice C.M. Poonacha passed the order on the petition filed by Rajajinagar 5th Block Residents’ Welfare Association, Benglauru. It has been complained in the petition that the school authorities did not address the problems faced by the residents, even though the association brought to the notice of the principal of the school, in 2023, details about the hardships caused due to the sound emitted by the loudspeakers installed in the school premises and the parking lot of school buses in residential areas for long hours. The petitioner has also claimed that the school has constructed a new building, allegedly in the buffer area of a stormwater drain sans any approval. The association has also complained that the police and the civic authorities have failed to take necessary action despite various representations submitted on the problems faced by the residents due to negligence on the part of the school authorities.
