As per the latest updates, election officials have accepted 1,637 nomination forms and rejected 337 following Tuesday’s (March 24, 2026) scrutiny of nomination papers filed for the April 9 Assembly polls. In addition to this, two nomination forms have also been withdrawn, as per data available till 6 p.m. on Tuesday. In all, 1,254 candidates had filed 2,125 nomination forms when the deadline for the submission of nominations ended at 3 p.m. on Monday (March 23). A final picture of the candidates’ list will emerge after the deadline for withdrawal of nominations ends on March 26. Meanwhile, election officials have pinpointed 2,29,980 violations of the Model Code of Conduct. Action was taken in 2,29,232 of the cases, according to an update issued by Chief Electoral Officer (Kerala) Rathan U. Kelkar’s office. On Tuesday alone, 48,639 violations were reported.
