UPSC achiever felicitated by alma mater in Kalaburagi

Chandrashekhar Manase, an alumnus of Sarvajna and Justice Shivaraj Patil Pre-University Science College, was accorded a grand felicitation on campus on Monday (March 23) after securing All India Rank 880 in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination.

He was welcomed with a traditional drum procession and an NCC parade before being honoured at a function attended by faculty and students.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Manase recalled that he was a Kannada medium student at a government high school in Vanadurga, Shahapur taluk, and was initially unsure about his future. “Joining Sarvajna College for science marked a turning point in my life,” he said, adding that an annual day address by former Supreme Court judge Shivaraj V. Patil and IAS officer Shalini Rajneesh had inspired him to aim for civil services.

“I developed the determination to become an IAS officer after listening to them. With consistent effort and discipline, I pursued my goal,” he said.

Mr. Manase credited his success to the guidance of the institution’s founder, Channareddy Patil, and the disciplined academic environment of the college. “Structured studies from morning to evening and constant motivation played a key role in my preparation,” he said, expressing gratitude to his teachers and the institution.

Encouraging students, he said that success comes in stages through sustained hard work and urged them to aim high and remain committed to their goals.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Patil said Mr. Manase had brought pride to the institution and the Kalyana Karnataka region by achieving success through perseverance and clear focus. He called upon students to set ambitious goals and work diligently to achieve them.

Institution president Geeta Channareddy Patil advised students to cultivate good habits, maintain good health, and pursue studies with dedication. “Even after achieving high positions, one must remain humble and committed to serving society,” she said.
