Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday (March 24, 2026) ordered a detailed investigation into a series of fire incidents in the capital region of Amaravati, instructing officials to ascertain whether they were accidental or part of a larger conspiracy.

Reviewing a recent fire accident at an HOD towers construction site in Rayapudi, the Chief Minister held a meeting with senior officials, including DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, Guntur SP Vakul Jindal, and Intelligence Chief Mahesh Kumar Laddha at the Secretariat.

Officials apprised the Chief Minister on the incident, including the time of the fire and the response by fire services. Mr. Naidu sought details on how the fire spread rapidly and directed authorities to use forensic evidence to determine the exact cause.

Expressing concern over repeated incidents amid ongoing large-scale construction in the capital, the Chief Minister said such incidents could create unnecessary obstacles to development works and stressed the need for heightened vigilance.

He instructed officials to increase patrolling in construction zones and directed companies to install CCTV cameras at material storage yards. He also asked for the deployment of private security personnel and use of drone surveillance to monitor sensitive areas.

Mr. Naidu further directed authorities to keep a close watch on suspicious movements and take strict action if any attempt to create disturbance or sabotage is detected.
