Speaker Vijender Gupta said it was unfortunate that Ms. Atishi has not made any communication with him on the matter, while AAP MLAs informed him that she was outside Delhi. The Assembly was later adjourned for the day. On Tuesday (January 6, 2026) too, BJP MLAs demanded her apology both inside and outside the Assembly. Ms. Atishi’s alleged comment was inaudible as it was made during a protest in the House by AAP MLAs demanding a discussion on air pollution.
