Dindigul District Election Officer and Collector S. Saravanan on Monday chaired a meeting with representatives of political parties regarding the upcoming Assembly elections.

The Collector said that complaints received via cVIGIL app would be inquired and resolved in 100 minutes. A control room has been established at the Dindigul Collectorate. People can contact the control room or use the mobile application to lodge complaints regarding any poll related violations.

Political parties must obtain prior permission before conducting public meetings. Posts on social media platforms would be strictly monitored. In the seven Assembly Constituencies in the district Palani, Oddanchatram, Athoor, Nilakottai, Natham, Dindigul and Vedasandur, 21 flying squad teams have been formed (three per constituency).

Additionally, three teams have been assigned to Kodaikanal, bringing the total to 24 teams. Each flying squad would consist of three members, with a total of nine personnel per team rotation to ensure 24-hour operational status.

Holders of licensed firearms in Dindigul district were asked to immediately deposit their weapons at the police stations having jurisdiction over the areas and obtain a proper acknowledgment receipt for the same. The firearms may be taken back from the respective police stations one week after the announcement of the election results
