Department of Health, Medical Education, and Family Welfare on Monday (March 23, 2026) announced that the State government will soon bring out a digital system for submission, verification, approval of bills for the medical reimbursement under Employee Health Scheme (EHS). The system will make the process simpler and more beneficial to government employees and pensioners, according to a press release from the department.

According to the release, new software will be developed by the A.P. Centre for Financial Systems and Services (APCFSS), keeping in mind the current system.

Under the new paperless system, medical bills from hospitals, where government employees and pensioners received treatment, will be sent directly to the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva Trust. Hospitals will be provided login access for this purpose. Hospital managements have assured full cooperation regarding payments, according to the note.

In a press statement, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said that steps are being taken to implement paperless bill payments as per the directions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The department is working to implement these reforms soon with a preliminary target to complete hospital registration and related processes by April 30.

According to the press note, across the State there are 5,55,988 employees and 2,32,764 pensioners. Under the Employees Health Scheme (EHS), government employees, pensioners, and their family members are covered. However, under the current system, a lengthy process is followed, involving multiple steps, which causes delays and inconvenience to the people.
