The YSR Congress Party has intensified its statewide campaign on the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project, renewing its focus on mobilising public opinion and mounting pressure on the government to revive the stalled initiative.

At a key meeting held at the party’s central office in Tadepalli on Monday, YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy reviewed the project’s status with party leaders from Rayalaseema, Nellore and Prakasam districts, and outlined a structured action plan for the coming months.

To ensure effective execution, district-level task forces will be constituted to spearhead the campaign. Review meetings will be held every 10 days over the next two to three months to sustain momentum and monitor progress.

As part of its outreach strategy, the party will mobilise its student, youth and farmer wings to expand the campaign’s reach across regions.

The campaign will also highlight broader water management concerns, including the potential impact of the proposed increase in the height of the Almatti dam and the reduction in the height of the Polavaram project, which, the party said, could adversely affect the State’s long-term water security and farmers’ livelihoods.

Former Minister Sake Sailajanath has been entrusted with overseeing the campaign at the State level to ensure coordination across districts and organisational wings.
