Ashok Members of Tamil Nadu Science Forum submitted a representation to District Collector K.J. Praveen Kumar here on Monday urging the district administration to restore Karisal lake at Sivarakottai village to its original form. R. Rajamanickam of the forum, said Karisal lake, which had an extent of 133.32 hectares, benefits about 465 acres of land in Kallikudi taluk. “As this tank is located upstream of the village, it also helps in maintaining and increasing groundwater level. Even when there is no water, the tank replenishes the wells located in the area,” he added.
